Monica: There's nothing to tell! He's just some guy I work with!

Monica：没有什么可以说的，他只是一个和我一起工作的人。

Joey: C'mon, you're going out with the guy! There's gotta be something wrong with him!

Joey：少来了!你准备和那个人一起出去，他一定有一些问题!

Chandler: All right Joey, be nice. So does he have a hump? A hump and a hairpiece?

Chandler：没错，Joey，那个人是个驼背吗?既驼背又秃顶?

Phoebe: Wait, does he eat chalk?

Phoebe：等等，他是不是吃粉笔的?

(They all stare , bemused.)

Phoebe: Just, 'cause, I don't want her to go through what I went through with Carl- oh!

Monica: Okay, everybody relax. This is not even a date. It's just two people going out to dinner and- not having sex.

Chandler: Alright, so I'm back in high school, I'm standing in the middle of the cafeteria, and I realize I am totally naked.

All: Oh, yeah. Had that dream.

[Time Lapse, Ross has entered.]

Monica: Are you okay, sweetie?

Ross: I just feel like someone reached down my throat , grabbed my small intestine , pulled it out of my mouth and tied it around my neck...

Chandler: Cookie?

Monica: (explaining to the others) Carol moved her stuff out today.

Ross: I'll be fine, alright? Really, everyone. I hope she'll be very happy.

Ross：我会好的，好吗?真的，各位，我希望她过的非常开心。

Monica: No you don't.

Monica：不，你不会的。

Ross: No I don't, to hell with her, she left me!

Joey: And you never knew she was a lesbian...

Ross: No!! Okay?! Why does everyone keep fixating on that? She didn't know, how should I know?

Chandler: Sometimes I wish I was a lesbian... (They all stare at him.) Did I say that out loud?

Ross: I told mom and dad last night, they seemed to take it pretty well.

Monica: Oh really, so that hysterical phone call I got from a woman at sobbing 3:00 A.M., "I'll never have grandchildren, I'll never have grandchildren." was what? A wrong number?

Ross: Sorry.

Joey: Alright Ross, look. You're feeling a lot of pain (痛苦)right now. You're angry. You're hurting. Can I tell you what the answer is?

Joey：好吧Ross，听着，你现在正感到非常痛苦，现在，你很生气，你很受伤，我能告诉你解决的方法吗?

(Ross gestures his consent.)

(Ross 的姿势表示赞同)

Joey: Strip(剥去) joint(接缝处) ! C'mon, you're single! Have somehormones(荷尔蒙) !

Joey：(Strip joint 这里指脱衣舞会)!来吧，你是单身，有性趣求!

Ross: I don't want to be single, okay? I just... I just- I just wanna be married again!

(Rachel enters in a wet wedding dress and starts to search the room.)

Chandler: And I just want a million dollars! (He extends his hand hopefully.)

按：这个场景真的很好笑。Ross说想在结婚，马上从门外进来一个穿着婚纱的美女，而Chandler立即开始祈求得到一百万美元。

Monica: Rachel?!

Monica：Rachel?!

Rachel: Oh God Monica hi! Thank God! I just went to your building and you weren't there and then this guy with a big hammer said you might be here and you are, you are!

Rachel：喔，上帝啊!你好!Monica，感谢上帝!我刚才去你家但是比不在那里，有个拿着大锤子的家伙说你可能在这里，你真的在这里，真的在这里!

Waitress: Can I get you some coffee?

服务员：想来杯咖啡吗?

Monica: (pointing at Rachel) De-caff. (to All) Okay, everybody, this is Rachel, another Lincoln High survivor(生还者) . (to Rachel) This is everybody, this is Chandler, and Phoebe, and Joey, and- you remember my brother Ross?

Monica：(指着Rachel)，不要咖啡因的。(对着大家)嗨，各位，这是Rachel，另一个Lincoln高中的生还者。(对着Rachel)这是大家，这是Chandler，Phonebe，Joey，还有，你还认识我哥哥Ross吗?

Rachel: Hi, sure!

Rachel：嗨，当然!

Ross: Hi.

Ross：嗨。

(They go to hug but Ross's umbrella opens. He sits back down defeated(击败;挫折) again. A moment of silence follows as Rachel sits and the others expect (期待)her to explain(解释) .)

(他们都去和Rachel拥抱，不过当Ross走过去的时候，他的伞正好打开了，他坐了回去，倍感挫折)。一小段寂静过后，Rachel坐了下来，其他人都在期待她的解释。

Monica: So you wanna tell us now, or are we waiting for four wet bridesmaids?

Monica：你是想现在就告诉我们呢，还是等伴娘来了以后才说?

Rachel: Oh God... well, it started about a half hour before the wedding. I was in the room where we were keeping all the presents, and I was looking at this gravy boat (酱油壶，调味瓶). This really gorgeous (华丽的) Lamauge gravy boat. When all of a sudden- (to the waitress that brought her coffee)Sweet 'n' Lo?- I realized that I was more turned on(变得兴奋) by this gravy boat than by Barry! And then I got really freaked out怪诞想法 , and that's when it hit me: how much Barry looks like Mr. Potato Head. Y'know, I mean, I always knew looked familiar(亲切) , but... Anyway, I just had to get out of there, and I started wondering 'Why am I doing this, and who am I doing this for?'. (to Monica) So anyway I just didn't know where to go, and I know that you and I have kinda drifted apart, but you're the only person I knew who lived here in the city.

Monica: Who wasn't invited to the wedding.

Rachel: Ooh, I was kinda(=kind of 有一点) hoping that wouldn't be an issue(出版、发行)...

Rachel：喔，我有些希望这件事从来没有发生过。

[Scene: Monica's Apartment, everyone is there and watching a Spanish Soap on TV and are trying to figure out what is going on.]

【场景：Monica的公寓住宅内，所有人都在看电视，正在播放西班牙肥皂剧，而且在猜剧情的发展】

Monica: Now I'm guessing that he bought her the big pipe organ, and she's really not happy about it.

Monica：我猜他送她一台管风琴，但是她肯定不喜欢。

Chandler: (imitating the characters) Tuna or egg salad? Decide!

Chandler：(模仿演员)，吞拿鱼或者鸡蛋沙拉?决定吧!

Ross: (in a deep voice) I'll have whatever Christine is having.

Ross：(用一种低沉的声音)我将拥有Christine正拥有的一切。

Rachel: (on phone) Daddy, I just... I can't marry him! I'm sorry. I just don't love him. Well, it matters to me!

Rachel：(用电话)爸爸，我只是……我不能嫁给他!对不起。我只是不爱他。好吧，这和我有关。

(The scene on TV has changed to show two women, one is holding her hair.)

(电视上的场景变换，有两个女人，其中一个正抓着她的头发)

Phoebe: If I let go of my hair, my head will fall off. Chandler: (re TV) Ooh, she should not be wearing those pants(wear the pants(妇女)掌权当家) . Joey: I say push her down the stairs. Phoebe, Ross, Chandler, and Joey: Push her down the stairs! Push her down the stairs! Push her down the stairs!

Phonebe：如果我没有头发，我还不如去死。Chandler：(回到电视)喔，她不应该掌权当家。Joey：我说推她下楼。Phoebe，Ross，Chandler和Joey一起：推她下楼，推她下楼，推他下楼!

(She is pushed down the stairs and everyone cheers.)

(她被推下楼梯，所有人都在庆祝)

Rachel: C'mon Daddy, listen to me! It's like, it's like, all of my life, everyone has always told me, 'You're a shoe! You're a shoe, you're a shoe, you're a shoe!'. And today I just stopped and I said, 'What if I don't wanna be a shoe? What if I wanna be a- a purse(皮包) , y'know? Or a- or a hat! No, I'm not saying I want you to buy me a hat, I'm saying I am a ha- It's a metaphor(比喻) , Daddy!

Rachel：爸爸，听我说!这就像，这就像，我这一辈子，每个人都一直告诉我：“你是一只鞋子!你是一只鞋子!”而今天，我只是想停止它，然后我想，如果我不想当鞋子，如果我想当皮包呢?你明白吗?或者说想当一顶帽子!不!我并不是说要你买一顶帽子给我，我是说我是一顶帽子……这是一个比喻，爸爸!

Ross: You can see where he'd have trouble.

Ross：你们都知道，他遇到麻烦了。

Rachel: Look Daddy, it's my life. Well maybe I'll just stay here with Monica.

Monica: Well, I guess we've established(确定) who's staying here with Monica...

Rachel: Well, maybe that's my decision. Well, maybe I don't need your money. Wait!! Wait, I said maybe!!

[Time Lapse, Rachel is breating into a paper bag.]

Monica: Just breathe, breathe.. that's it. Just try to think of nice calm things... Phoebe: (sings) Raindrops on roses and rabbits and kittens, (Rachel and Monica turn to look at her.) bluebells and sleighbells and- something with mittens... La la la thing and noodles with string. These are a few...

Phoebe: (grins(咧嘴笑) and walks to the kitchen and says to Chandler and Joey.) I helped!

Monica: Okay, look, this is probably for the best, y'know? Independence(独立). Taking control of your life. The whole, 'hat' thing.

Joey: (comforting(安慰) her) And hey, you need anything, you can always come to Joey. Me and Chandler live across the hall. And he's away a lot.

Monica: Joey, stop hitting on her! It's her wedding day!

(The door buzzer sounds and Chandler gets it.)

Chandler: Please don't do that again, it's a horrible (讨厌) sound.

Paul: (over the intercom) It's, uh, it's Paul.

Paul：(通过对讲装置)我是Paul。

Monica: Oh God, is it 6:30? Buzz him in!

Monica：哦天哪，现在6：30了吗?让他进来!

Joey: Who's Paul?

Joey：Paul是谁?

Ross: Paul the Wine Guy, Paul?

Ross：那个调酒师Paul?

Monica: Maybe. Joey: Wait. Your 'not a real date' tonight is with Paul the Wine Guy?

Ross: He finally asked you out?

Monica: (horrified带有恐惧感的) Really?

Ross: (normal voice) No, go on! It's Paul the Wine Guy!

Ross：(正常的声音)不，去吧!那是调酒师Paul啊!

Phoebe: What does that mean? Does he sell it, drink it, or just complain a lot? (Chandler doesn't know.)

Phone：那意味着什么?他是卖酒呢，喝酒呢还是评论酒的?(Chandler也不知道)

(There's a knock on the door and it's Paul.)

(有人敲门，是Paul)

Monica: Hi, come in! Paul, this is.. (They are all lined up next to the door.)... everybody, everybody, this is Paul.

All: Hey! Paul! Hi! The Wine Guy! Hey!

所有人：嗨!Paul!嗨!调酒师!嗨!

Chandler: I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name. Paul, was it?

Chandler：对不起，我还不知道你的名字，Paul是吗?

Monica: Okay, umm-umm, I'll just--I'll be right back, I just gotta(俚语=have got to必须去) go ah, go ah...

Monica：好的，嗯……我要，，我马上回来，我必须去去，啊，要去，啊……

Ross: A wandering(神情恍惚)?

Ross：神情恍惚?

Monica: Change! Okay, sit down. (Shows Paul in) Two seconds.

Monica：换衣服，请坐!(示意Paul进来)很快!

Phoebe: Ooh, I just pulled out four eyelashes. That can't be good.

Phoebe：哦，我刚刚拔了四根眼睫毛。不妙。

(Monica goes to change.)

(Monica去换衣服。)

Joey: Hey, Paul!

Joey：嗨，Paul!

Paul: Yeah?

Paul：什么事?

Joey: Here's a little tip, she really likes it when you rub her neck in the same spot over and over and over again until it starts to get a little red.

Monica: (yelling(大叫) from the bedroom) Shut up, Joey!

Monica：闭嘴，Joey!

Ross: So Rachel, what're you, uh... what're you up to tonight?

Ross：Rachel，你怎么样，嗯，你今晚要干什么?

Rachel: Well, I was kinda supposed to be headed for Aruba on my honeymoon, so nothing!

Rachel：哦，我本应该在前往Aruba的蜜月旅行中的，所以，现在没事了!

Ross: Right, you're not even getting your honeymoon, God.. No, no, although, Aruba, this time of year... talk about your- (thinks) -big lizards... Anyway, if you don't feel like being alone tonight, Joey and Chandler are coming over to help me put together my new furniture.
