首先，你應確信你已在發音技巧和語音方面下了很多功夫。否則，你將會鬧出很多笑話。例如“我可以借一下你的.自行車嗎？”而你說成“我可以借一下你的後背嗎？”“請遞給我那個箱子”而由於你的錯誤發音，竟說成“請給我一個吻吧。”很顯然，在這兩個句子中你讀錯了“自行車”和“盒子”這兩個詞，而對方也就自然誤解了你的意思。另外，語調的不同也可表達著不同的感情，舉個例子：倫敦橋塌了！倫敦橋塌了！我的夫人！（聲音高昂，表示高興）倫敦橋塌了！倫敦橋塌了！我的夫人！（聲音低沉，表示悲傷）
